Food is one of the greatest pleasures in life and it is also a great healer. My mission is to support you to boost your energy and reduce your stress levels, helping you to feel fantastic. Food not only feeds the body, it also feeds the soul!
My philosophy is that the mind and the body work together, that our life experiences and what we believe all affect our decisions concerning food and lifestyle choices.
I understand how difficult it is to find the time and the energy to maintain healthy eating habits with the demands of modern life, combined with the plethora of tempting yet unhealthy food that is available to us at every corner. Moreover the bombardment of conflicting nutrition advice on a multitude of unrealistic diets for weight loss are just too difficult to maintain long term.
It's no wonder it's becoming more complicated to know what to eat. And it doesn't have to be this complicated!
I’ve developed an effective approach to help you cut through the maze of conflicting information and by working with me, you develop your own individual nutrition plan that will put you on the right path to achieve what you really want. My specialist areas are digestive wellness, hormone balancing, stress management and sensible smart weight loss and maintenance.
A bit about me.
I have a life long fascination with how food affects us all, both mentally and physically. My initial career started out in the Catering Industry - my love of food and cooking wasn't really fulfilled as I was working long hours and neglecting my own health. I knew that the food I was eating wasn't the healthiest and that skipping meals under pressure of work was contributing to low moods as well as energy dips. I wanted to learn more about the influence of food on the mind as well as the body. This led me to study the science of nutrition after the arrival of my first child. I wanted to know how to feed her well, as well as to feel better myself! I subsequently started practicing as a Registered Nutritional Therapist in 2000 and, for 7 of those years I lived in Dubai, where I worked at Synergy Integrated Medical Centre. It's during this period that I discovered the importance of mental and emotional health, gaining an understanding of the barriers to making nutrition and lifestyle changes. I trained as an NLP Coach and completed the zest4life nutrition and coaching programme.
My focus is on emotional eating and practical issues around making changes to diet and lifestyle. I have developed a nutrition and coaching programme called Joyful Eating to help those who struggle with their weight and have been 'dieting' for years, often yo-yoing from one diet to another. We work together to find solutions to take them off the dieting rollercoaster. Reiki is a very effective add on therapy to support clients emotionally on this journey of self discovery! I am also trained in BACH Flower Remedies which are a wonderful tool to aid emotional balance. I currently have clinics in Twickenham and Teddington and can also provide telephone or online coaching.
As a parent of a teenager studying for A Levels, and a daughter at University, I have been through major life stages personally with them and, as a result, have developed a teenage programme to help young students manage, both nutritionally and emotionally, with the challenges of this transformative life stage.

I keep abreast of developments in nutritional science by undertaking yearly continuous professional development. This year I attended courses in digestive wellness, nutrition for a healthy gut microbiome and nutrition for hormone balance. In June I completed a 3-day training and subsequent assignment in Psychological Approaches to Obesity at the National Centre for Eating Disorders. I also trained in using the DNA GI-MAP test for gut health and DNAfit to help develop personalised exercise and nutrition plans
